I was a teacher for adult students in my hometown. But since Sweden needs teachers, I decide to try with kids here. I have been around a school, getting to know the scholar system. And I must say the disappointment is huge. When you think is schooling in Europe the imaginary is "high ranked level of education". I must say there is nothing more inaccurate in Sweden - so far as I see. The system has make a big damage on children around the country. Sweden is a social democratic country. At least the state is. The population... not so much. Most of the people seem to have a very individualistic point of view. "The state has obligations with me, I just care about me". There is not a wide view on community. Not to say they even avoid to meet their neighbors when going out of the flat. In schools then you can find students who make the most minimal effort, just to get enough points to go into gymnasium and get a technical degree in order to get a kind of good job....
Now, many people might say "Yeah, what a novelty, a black man talking about black issues". And I will answer YES, it must me talk until we don't have to talk about it anymore. Nobody likes talking about it. As many immigrants in Sweden, I move here, among other reasons, because of love. My ass changed language, country, a career, family and friends, because of my sambo - name for a partner you live with in Sweden, without being married (Sin!) - asked me to move and try a life together, after years of knowing each other in the distance. When people think in Sweden, we all thing in equality in rights, progressive culture, embracing diversity and accepting the difference. Nothing could be more wrong. The country is full of "closet-racist". When I first visit Sweden, I came being aware it was full of white people, so I was expecting everyone to be distant and rejecting. It was the opposite. Everyone was pretty nice. I just was here for a couple of weeks. ...
